Road Resurfacing: Hwy #28 Campbell River - Gold River to Buttle Narrows

Project Info:

The project took place on Highway #28 between Campbell River and Gold River with various sections of highway identified that required deep base repairs which entailed excavation to a depth of 700mm the full width of a lane, adding non-woven geotextile and biaxial geogrid, and building the road prism back up.  Road failures were mainly attributed to poor construction practices from the initial install, as many repair sections required deeper excavations to address organic matter below the existing road structure.
